One month into our Player Development Programme sponsored by Sortimo and we already have some great success stories and life skills learnt by the girls.
6th Septemder - Lily - Communication Skills

*After an opposition goal-fest in the first four minutes of the first game of the season our keeper stepped up her role to where she's been working towards from last season by starting to communicate more directly with her team in a positive and constructive manner. Turned the game around and from that moment on it was a much closer game.
13th September - The Squad - Self Awareness
*After coming off the pitch at the end of a disappointing game the whole squad were asked how they felt the game went; it was a unanimous 'we we awful'! The positives were they had fun playing and all realised they could have played better.
4th October - Darcie - Coping with Stress
*Last season taking a knock would have led to this player asking to come off. This time she pushed through for herself and the team and with the subs cheering her on she ran off the knock and got into the thick pressurising the defence and helping the team to win the match.
The girls are keen to hear who has been selected each week for their effort in training / games that shows them living the programme.

Developing Life Skills early on in life makes children ready for the future, and instills leadership qualities, and they help children be more adaptable, confident, and empathetic.
Haunchwood Hearts strives to not only give the girls in the team a brilliant footballing experience but also help to shape them into strong and confident young women, ready to take on the world as they grow up.
