United win 11 goal thriller against Ravens

Great to be back for only our second game in 120 days

There was a bit of rustiness as was expected and United just couldn’t get control of the game, every time we pushed forward, Coalville hit us on the counter attack and we soon found ourselves 2-0 down.

Despite the deficit, our boys kept raising their game and we started seeing glimpses of the United were used to seeing. A lovely through ball from Miles allowed Jenson to use his pace to break through their defence to slot home our first of the game.

Coalville continued to hit us on the counter making it an end to end game, we conceded again before Miles reduced the margin as he pounced to find the back of the net.

Coalville were doing everything they could to spoil our day and went 4-2 up before George stepped up to convert a superb free kick, 4-3!

The tempo was increased as was confidence and belief, we were finally on the front foot

Jake battled well to recover the ball in the 18 yard box and found Miles who got us back on level terms. Miles then completed his hat trick with what looked to be the winner, however Coalville equalised late on and it looked like a well battled draw was on the cards....

BUT our boys were not done yet,! They passed the ball around brilliantly, making their way up the pitch, Jenson won us a late corner that lead to superb phase of play with Harley, Mitchell and Jenson linking up well to find Jake on the edge of the box, he threaded it through perfectly for Miles to run onto to snatch the winner!

It was a game of 2 halves with our United boys growing as the game went on, it was a hard battle but the boys once again proved they’ve got what it takes to dig deep and fight until the final whistle.

Mitchell’s desire to receive and recover the ball was superb m, he used his skill on the ball really well and distributed it brilliantly, his attitude was great throughout

Miles defended from the front, his determination on and off the ball was rewarded by an assist and 4 really well taken goals
